Alternatives to GDP on BBC Talking Business with Aaron Heslehurst
Last year’s Thriving Places Index was covered by journalists across the country both on the day of the launch and in the months following. Regional coverage included Devon Live, the Bristol Post and Bristol 24/7, the Bath Chronicle, the Surrey Advertiser, the Midlands’ Express & Star, the Leicester Mercury and the Newcastle Chronicle amongst others. The Index was also covered in several local government publications including Public Finance and LocalGov.
Centre for Thriving Places was founded in 2010, with the aim to change the economic compass from pointing to consumption and growth toward wellbeing for people, place and planet. We bring this vision to life through place-based strategic consulting, training and our evidence-based measurement tools the Thriving Places Index and Happiness Pulse. We work with local authorities, organisations and individuals to provide practical pathways to measure, understand and improve wellbeing.
